Q: What’s the best way to find postgraduate jobs abroad?
A: Start the ball rolling with a postgraduate placement...
You’ve probably discovered this already - postgraduate jobs abroad can be hard to come by. So a funded work placement can be the best way in to the foreign jobs market.
At ETS, we have a network of training partners right across Europe, arranging postgraduate placements in just about every sector. Just choose where you want to work (ideally somewhere that matches your language skills) then click on the map of Europe to see what we can arrange.
As a postgraduate, you’ll have specialist knowledge in your chosen field - so whatever type of placement you need, we’re sure we’ll find it for you.
This year we’ve arranged specialist work placements in popular fields, including: arts and cultural bodies, IT, design, marketing, PR, events, environment, charities, libraries, journalism, film, photography, tourism and hospitality.
Of course every country has its own sectors, so when it comes to location we might ask you to be flexible. But to get things moving, we just need to know what you want to do, and where.
Every post graduate starts off with a 2-week language course – a chance to brush up on conversational skills and get ready for life abroad.
The work placement starts in week 3, and usually runs for the next 10 weeks. By the end of the placement, you’ll have picked up some vital new skills and transformed your prospects with employers – for jobs at home and abroad.
Post graduate funding covers every cost including flights and accommodation, as well as language training and general living expenses. For more on funding, eligibility and the terms of your placement, take a look at the Leonardo Programme.
You can apply for a funded placement here. It’s a straight forward application, and if you’re eligible for the programme we’ll ask you to come along for an interview.
