Czech Republic FlagWork experience in Martin

Welcome to Slovakia!

The Slovak Republic is a modern country located in Central Europe with the economy being considered as one of the fastest growing market economies in central Europe. As well as a wide range of Slovak companies, there is a large variety of international companies of all sizes from most industries and countries.

Slovakia offers plenty of opportunities for social life, cultural recreation and sports. Slovak citizens still keep many traditions, good working ethics being one of them. English is an international communication language in most companies, however, participants with good knowledge of other world languages are welcomed as well.

The city of Martin is in the county of žilina. About 3 hours journey from Bratislava, it is the 8th largest city in Slovakia and is in the region called Turiec. Situated along the river Turiec and between the Malá Fatra and Velká Fatra mountains, this area of Slovakia offers stunning scenery and many opportunities to visit the waterfalls and ancient castles nearby.

In 1919 Martin became the central-administrative district of north-west Slovakia.  The reopening of the Slovak National foundation along with other cultural organisations saw Slovakia‘s cultural life develop with many painters, sculptors and writers finding their inspiration in Slovakia. Today Martin continues to be a vibrant city, home to many museums, theatres, galleries and fantastic sporting conditions.
