Arranging work placements in the UK:
The role of your host organisation
At ETS we’re known across Europe as one of the UK’s leading host organisations. With this reputation, we’re able to arrange work placements in all types of sectors, with some of the country’s largest employers.
Our network of employers stretches the whole length of the UK, with many placements based in South Wales and the Midlands. Placements usually last between 5 and 13 weeks - although we can tailor the length of stay to suit the needs of each trainee.
The following video is a typical example of a work placement.
Selecting the work placement
All placements are carefully chosen to match the trainees’ interests and experience, as well as their ability in written and spoken English. We get to know each trainee before they come to the UK, and wherever possible our Work Placement Manager will visit them in their home country.
Once we understand the trainee’s needs, we make it our mission to find a placement that exceeds their expectation. If our contacts can’t offer something, we’ll find someone who can – there’s literally no type of placement that we can’t explore.
During the placement
Like any responsible host organisation, we impose strict quality controls and maintain regular contact with trainees throughout their placement. In the rare event that a problem should occur, our staff are always on hand and ready to resolve any situation.
After the placement
We’re here to offer a placement that prepares trainees for a career back home – but it’s not uncommon for them to stay on in the UK. Many have been offered longer contracts or even permanent positions in competitive fields of industry, commerce and education.
